The world began on Sept. 12, 1953, with autumnís brisk breath floating down the slopes of the Rocky Mountains into Denver, Colo., when Patricia Kay Ross opened her eyes for the first time.
Patti was born to Charles and Virginia Ross and had three brothers: Charles Ross, Jr. of Wichita Falls, Michael Ross and Rodney Ross of Fort Worth. Patti also had a brother, William Ross, and two sisters, Hallie and Charlene Ross, who went on years earlier to await her. Patti and her husband of 38 years, Rick, reside in Brownwood. Into the life of Patti and Rick came a jewel in the form of their daughter, Erika Rodgers. Erika lives in Tallahassee, Fla. with her husband, Travis, and two children Austin and Victoria. Patti had a touch that Midas with all his gold would have envied, for everyone Patti touched turned into a friend, of which she had countless. Patti will be missed for as scattered clouds yielding gentle tears over Abilene, Texas, on Aug. 3, 2007, at 7 a.m. she peacefully closed her eyes and the world ended.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3301 W. Freeway, Fort Worth, TX, 76107.
