COMANCHE — Funeral services for Kirk Pettit, 95, of Dublin will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 27, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ronnie Calcote officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Castleview Nursing and Rehab in Stephenville.
He was born July 4, 1913, in Gustine, to P.A. Pettit and Nina (Brown) Pettit. He was an agriculture teacher for 21 years and was later appointed as Area Supervisor in Vocational Education for the TEA. He was married to Mattie Lou Weems, who preceded him in death. He was married to Mary Ash Tyler on Dec. 25, 1967, in Corpus Christi. He was member of the First Baptist Church in Corpus Christi.
Survivors include his two sons, Dean Kyle and Loibeth Pettit of Arlington and Paul Alan Pettit of Dublin; daughter, Luann Pettit of Corpus Christi; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both his wives.
