COMANCHE — Funeral services for Freddie Gene Ward, 75, of Gustine will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating. Burial will be in Baggett Creek Cemetery in Comanche County.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Lunch will be at noon Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Gustine.
He died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Hansford Hospital in Spearman.
He was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Gorman to Charles W. and Lola Opal Welch Ward. He was a systems operator for Phillips Petroleum and served as a Comanche County commissioner from 1987 to 1991.
He was married to Jenean Graham on Feb. 24, 1951, in Dallas. She died May 21, 2005.
Survivors include a son, Robert Ward of Gustine; a daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Bob McGaha of Spearman; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Mickey Gene Ward.
