GOLDTHWAITE -- Josephine Evans, 78, of Priddy, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at Goldthwaite Senior Health Center. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel in Goldthwaite with the Rev. David Tankersley officiating. Interment will follow in the Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Josephine was born on May 11, 1925, in Campwood, to Charlie Haggerton and Rosalee Bishop Haggerton. She married Carl Evans on Dec. 23, 1941, in Uvalde and moved to Mills County from Uvalde in 1952. She was a homemaker and a member of Trigger Mountain Baptist Church.

She is survived by: Husband, Carl Evans, of Priddy; five children, Roy Evans and wife, Marlene, of Ballinger; Albert Evans and wife, Janita, of Mullin; Jimmy Evans and wife, Kathy, of Priddy; Breta Head and husband, Ronnie, of Goldthwaite; Carl Evans, Jr. and wife, Sibil, of Comanche; brother, Shelby Haggerton, of Florence; step-mother, Jewel Haggerton, of Kerrville; step-sister, Majorie Tippet, of Kerrville; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Jerry, George and Reba.
