Graveside services for Sylvia Omega Hamilton, 80, of Brownwood, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Dianne Cree officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She died Tuesday, May 1, 2007.

She was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Huckabee to Herman and Gracie Steele. A homemaker and member of the Methodist Church, she had lived in Brownwood for over 20 years. On Dec. 5, 1944, she married Wayne T. Barnes in New Mexico. He preceded her in death in May 1964. On Feb. 23, 1965, she married George M. Hamilton in New Mexico. He preceded her in death in December 1990.

Survivors include son, Wayne Barnes and wife Susan of Libertyville, Ill.; daughter, Rosmary Bivins and husband David of Brownwood; five grandchildren, Shady and Salim Malaeb, Christopher Lane, Timothy Barnes, Nathan and Melissa Barnes and Sarah Barnes; and five great-grandchildren, Sasha, Shyanne, Sierra and Savannah Malaeb and Harvey Barnes.

She was preceded in death by husbands Wayne T. Barnes and George M. Hamilton and parents Herman and Gracie Steele.
