Funeral services for Dajon T-ray Holbert, age 6, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, at the New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs with burial to follow in the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.
He was born April 22, 2003, in Brownwood and was a resident of Temple where he was a student.
He died Dec. 26, 2009, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness while visiting grandparents in Brownwood for the holidays.
He was a very loving child who will be missed by all those who loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Sharay Holbert of Temple and special friend, Jamaal Maxey; a sister, Daja Holbert of Temple; great-great-grandmother, Beatrice Mitchell; great-grandparents, Jason and Fannie Stagg; grandparents, Paula Holbert-Flecher and husband Frank; his “Mimi,” Mary Stagg-Bocknite and husband Allan; his “Auntie,” Yvonne Washington and husband Marvin; his uncles, Aaron Fletcher, Preston Graves, and Tony Holbert; two great-great-aunts, Yvonne Mitchell and Mary Thompson; cousins, Jason Stagg, Eric Mayberry, Mariah Washington and Allen Bocknite II, Jaylen Bocknite, Jayden Stagg, Tommy Mayberry, Braylon Mayberry, Jamael Story, Kyra Franklin, Rome Brown, Tramaine Story, David Story, and Dishawn Story; great-aunts, Loletha Story, Shalonda Stagg, and Garlinda Brinkley, and Vickie Holbert; great-uncle, D.
