NOCONA — Funeral service for Charles F. Milburn of Brownwood, and formerly of Nocona, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 8, at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Scott-Morris Funeral Home.

He died Thursday, June 4, 2009, in Brownwood.

He was born June 4, 1920, in Bulcher, to Charles A. Milburn and Susie Mae (West) Milburn. He was married to Billie Shiflet on Dec. 21, 1941, in Gainesville, he served in the U.S. Army, during World War II. He was a bi-vocational pastor.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Milburn of Brownwood; children, Jeanette Hill of Granbury, Mike Milburn and wife Gala of Burleson, and Debbie Eoff and husband Garry of Brownwood; sister, Linda Berkline of College Station; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John David and wife Jesse Florence and Bennie and wife Wilda and James.

The family requests that memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund in Nocona, or Coggin Avenue Baptist Church’s Great Investment Fund in Brownwood.
