Funeral services for Grace Funderburg McQueen, 81, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tony King officiating. Interment will follow at Cox Cemetery under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Netherton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Funderburg passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at her residence.

Grace was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Comanche, the daughter of the late Lee and Annie (Morgan) Preston. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1956. Grace graduated from Comanche High School and later became a nurse through Ranger College.

Survivors include two sons, Hollis Waddle Sr. and wife, Wilman, of Rhome, and Gary D. Funderburg, Sr. and wife, Sheryl, of Bethany, Okla.; five daughters, Doris Haak and husband, Vernon, of Santa Anna, Grace Williams and husband, Jim, of Lake Creek, Cindy Hallford and husband, Perry, of Bangs, Annie Myrick of Blanket and April Robbins and husband, Robbie, of Arlington; 22 grandchildren; more great- and great-great-grandchildren than a rabbit; roommate, Christina Todo and her two companions, Peanut and Max.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Annie Preston; husbands, Millard Funderburg Sr. and James “Mayo” McQueen; son, Millard Funderburg Jr.; son-in-law, Hup Myrick; brother, J. D. Preston; and sister, Jackie Wilson.
