GOLDTHWAITE — Funeral services for Myrthel “Myrt” J. Parker, 93, of Goldthwaite will be held at 2 p.m. today, at Stacy-Wilkins Chapel, with Bro. Doug Holtzlaw officiating. Burial will follow in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery.

She died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Hillview Manor Nursing Home.

She was born May 13, 1916, in Underwood, N.D., to Emanuel Schafer and Isabella M. (Hassler) Schafer. She was married to Richard Alfred Parker on Nov. 10, 1937, in Northwood, Iowa. She was a Baptist and a housewife.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Harvey and Dorothy Parker of Stephenville, Bobby and Louis Lowe IV of Wimberley, Isabelle and David Rupert of Cohasset, Minn., and Wayne and Jeannette Parker of Blue Mound; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and twin sister, Mildred Sizemore of Tachoma, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Alfred Parker.
