Maurice Bryan Shaw, age 79, of Tow, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008, in Llano. He was born on Sept. 6, 1928, in Lubbock, Texas, to Bryan and Ruby Shaw. Mr. Shaw was most recently a resident of Tow for 15 years, and a former resident of Brownwood, Texas.

He was the first administrator for Brownwood Community Hospital. He later went to work for the Texas Department of Health. Upon retirement, he made his home at Lake Buchanan in Tow, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Gina Shaw of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; one daughter, Shea Lynn Nabi and husband Hosni, of Rockwall, Texas; one son, Hal Shaw and wife, Kay of Brownwood, Texas; his grandchildren, Kelly Rouch and her husband Garrett of Idaho, Scott Findley and his wife Paula, of Abilene, Texas, Mandy Hunter and her husband, Mark, of Midland, Texas, Lynn Nabi and his wife Gretchen, of Jacksonville, Texas, Sharif Nabi and his wife Lark, of Austin Texas; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Anna Roush, of Idaho, Addy and Bethy Findley, of Abilene, Matthew and McKenzie Nabi, of Jacksonville, Kyleigh and Morgan Nabi, of Austin; as well as one brother, Jack A. Shaw, of Taylor, Texas; one niece; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation and private services will be held.

The family has requested that memorials be sent to The First United Methodist Church, Brownwood, where Mr. Shaw attended while living in Brownwood, or to The American Alzheimer’s Association.
