BRADY — Funeral services for Gilbert “Buttermilk” Currie, 61, of Brady, will be held at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Brady with the Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady under the direction of Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

He died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, in San Angelo.

He was born April 9, 1946, in Brady to James Arthur and Myrtle Mae Maxwell Currie. On July 28, 1965, he was married to Jacqueline “Jackie” Potter in Brady.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Currie, of Brady; daughters, Sarah Moulden of Snyder and Stacy Fisher of Granbury; brothers, J.T. Currie of Alice, J.W. Currie of Galveston and Job Currie of Victoria; sister, Ida Mae Isom of Blanket; five brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.
