MIDLOTHIAN — Zoulee Holland Allen, born on Feb. 12, 1917, in Midlothian, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2011, after 94 years of an active life, loving the Lord, her family and her friends.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace H. Allen; their infant son, Steven Lee Allen; and her parents, Samuel and Lydia Mae Holland.

    She is survived by her daughter, Susan Allen Cofran, of Houston, Texas; Zoulee’s grandchildren, Lee Michelle Shanklin, Scott Cofran and his wife, Nancy; and her great-grandchildren, Bryce Shanklin, Bella and Ava Cofran, all of whom she loved and adored and was so loved by them all.

    Horace and Zoulee met and were married in Cleburne, but spent the majority of their married life in Brownwood, Texas. They were members of The First Presbyterian Church, where Zoulee served as church secretary for many years. After Horace passed away, Zoulee returned to Cleburne and joined The United Presbyterian Church.

    Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the The Midlothian Cemetery, 224 11th Street, Midlothian, Texas. If you so desire, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Zoulee’s name to Altus Harbor Hospice, 11233 Shadow Creek Parkway, Suite 123, Pearland, TX 77584 or to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Houston Affiliate, 5433 Westheimer, Suite 325, Houston, TX 77056.
