James “Jimmy” Hair, 63, of Brownwood, Texas died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with Samuel Allen officiating. Burial will be at the Clear Creek Cemetery in Brown County. Family visitation will be held Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
James was born Sept. 10, 1945, in Brownwood, Texas, the son of the late Joe Todd and Helen LaVon Kirk Hair. He was married to Darlene Eugenia Keel on May 11, 1984, in Brownwood. Hair worked for 3M for 36 years in maintenance. James was involved in Boy Scouts in his younger years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to snake hunt and camp out. James was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and had lived, worked and loved in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Hair of Brownwood; daughter, Carrie Lancaster and husband John of Brownwood; son, James R. Hair Jr. and wife Danielle of Heidleberg, Germany; daughter, Sabrina Pierson and husband Mark of Alvarado; daughter, Samantha Hellinger of Santa Anna; daughter, Shanna Powell of Bangs;12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Oliver Hair and wife Donna of Brownwood; nephew: Michael Hair of Abilene; nephew, Trent Hair of Brownwood; niece, Michelle Shannon and husband Brian of Brownwood; nephew, Joe Dickey and wife Gerri of Whitney; uncle, Bill Hair; daughter, Donna James of Bangs; mother-in-law, Shirley Keel of Brownwood; brothers-in-law, Everett Keel and wife Pat of Brownwood, Lonnie Keel of Brookesmith; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Keel of Brownwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Dickey; daughter, Jannetta Hair; niece, Helen Weathermon; granddaughter, Shalyn Raina Pierson; father-in-law, Gene Keel; and brother-in-law, Kenny Keel
The family requests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
