Clara Imogene Luker, age 94, of Comanche died at her home on Thursday evening, Nov. 8.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church in Comanche with the Rev. Matt Hall officiating. A graveside service will be held at the Norwood Cemetery in Runnels County at 3 p.m. under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 19, 1912, in Runnels County, the daughter of the late James Leonard and Ida Lorene Clayton Ray. She attended college at Trinity University in Waxahachie and the Texas College of Mines and later the University of Houston. She was a substitute teacher in the Houston School District for many years, and has been a resident of Comanche County since 1974. She was married to John Paul Luker in Ferris, Texas, on July 1, 1933. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Comanche and had taught piano several years also. She was also a former member of the Sidney Lions Club.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John David and Susan Luker of Comanche.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Vance Ray in 1991; and a sister, Muriel Ray Keesee in 1999.
