Funeral services for James Ray ‘Jim’ Oglesby, age 62, of Brownwood will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood with Pastor Neill Trull officiating. Burial will follow in the Zephyr Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Family visitation will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

    He passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 24, 2010, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

    He was born June 15, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Carl Albert and Alma Lois Woods.  Following his graduation from high school, he attended college at Howard Payne. He served in the National Guard. He was married to Linda Seiley at Calvary Baptist Church on June 15, 1991. He worked as a Senior Analyst of Technical Support for Verizion until his health failed. He had lived in Brownwood most of his life and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Linda Oglesby of Brownwood; brother, Carl Oglesby and his wife Barbara of Las Vegas; daughter, Misty Fry and her husband Joey of Brownwood; step-daughter, Jenni Brown of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Willie Vernon of Brownwood; four grandchildren, Tyler Vernon, Breyle Sauseda, Hallie Smith, and Hudson James Fry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    II Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith:  henceforce there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteousness judge, shall give me at the day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
