Jerry Lee Hudson, age 69, of Brownwood, affectionately known as “Pop,” passed away Tuesday night, July 22, 2008, at his home with his family by his side.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. His body will be cremated under the direction of Heartland Cremation Services of Early.
He was born May 27, 1939, in Brownwood, the son of Arthur and Tylene Hudson. He attended schools in Brownwood and lived there all of his life. He was married to Johnleen Rainey on Sept. 26, 1957, in Brownwood and they celebrated more than 50 years of marriage together. He was a member of the National Guard from 1955 – 1958. He retired from Santa Fe Railway Road after more than 40 years as an engineer.
Jerry loved his family unconditionally and was devoted to Josh and Kingston, his grandson and great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Johnleen Hudson of Brownwood; his children, Lisa and Jesse Maldonado of Brownwood and Brooke Lee Hudson of Proctor; his grandson, Joshua Lee Maldonado and great-grandson, Kingston Maldonado; his mother, Tylene Hudson; sister, Glenda Jenkins; and brother, Rudy Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Rodney Hudson; and his best friends, Howard Summers, Gayle Murray and Aaron Long.
