COLEMAN - Funeral service for Raymond Terrell Hamon, 69, of Coleman will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with his brother, Rodney Hamon officiating and assisted by Dr. David Medley. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at his home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1941, to W. T. "Tuffy" Hamon and Myrtle Wiginton Hamon. He worked in the oil field until 1967 when he went to work as a pipe fitter for Brown and Root. In 1992 he was married to Mary Van Pelt in Coleman. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hamon of Coleman; four children, Dolly Cody and husband Richard of Glen Cove, Marissa Hamon of the home, Jennifer Bates and partner Dennis Morgan of Coleman, and Russell Bates and wife Melissa of Coleman; brother, Rodney Hamon and wife Peggy of Voss; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and three aunts.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Hamon, his first wife Nancy Hamon.
