SAN ANGELO — Shirley J. Wills passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday at Shaffer Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Brownwood. Burial will follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery. Services are under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Shirley was born on Nov. 26, 1938, in Wink, Texas, to James Rufus and Jewel Davis Fogle. She grew up in Kermit, Texas, where she attended school. There in Kermit at the local Dairy Queen is where she met the love of her life, Bob Wills. They were married on June the 26th, 1957. Together they called many different towns home, eventually choosing San Angelo to retire.
Shirley loved her Lord and family. She was a kind, sweet, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Peggy Lavers; and three brothers, Jim Fogle, Bob Fogle and George Fogle.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Bob Wills Sr. of San Angelo; two sons, Bobby Wills Jr. and wife, Kathy of San Angelo and David Wills and wife, Mary of New Jersey; a brother, John Fogle of Sweetwater; a sister, Dorothy Thorpe of Grandbury; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Tredemeyer of Austin and Bonita Meinzer of Dallas; a brother-in-law, Gauvayne and wife, Reta Wills of Clairiot, Texas; four grandchildren, Heather King and husband, Chris of Florida, Grant Wills of Alpine, Shawnee Wills and Jimmie Wills, both of New Jersey; a great-grandchild, Wyatt Bowers of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
