Luisa Hernandez Valadez, 90, of Blanket, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008.
Funeral services, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday Aug. 9, 2008, in the funeral home Chapel with Pastor Pricilla Fuentes, of Sacramento, Calif., officiating. Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8.
Luisa was born May 10, 1918, in Del Rio, Texas, to Juan and Antonia Hernandez. She was married to Jose I. Valadez in Brady, Texas, on April 23, 1938. Luisa was a loving wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a very strong Christian, a woman of prayer, an influence to all who knew her, a mentor who will be greatly missed. She will be leaving behind her a strong legacy of faith. She lived most of her life in Brown County.
Luisa Valadez is survived by daughters, Hope Alvarado of Blanket, Odilia Ayala and husband Viviano of Alvarado; sons, Joe I. Valadez Jr. and wife Anna Belle of Blanket, Rudy Valadez of Fort Worth, Mario Valadez of Brownwood, Raymond Valadez of Blanket, Arther Valadez and wife Marcy of Fort Worth; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded into glory by her parents; husband Jose; four sisters; four brothers; and two grandchildren.
