COMANCHE — Funeral services for Velma White, 83, of Comanche will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow in Board Church Cemetery.

    She died on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, in Stephenville 

    She was born on Feb. 12, 1927, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Forrest and Cora Lee (Almand) Baty. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Higginbotham Bros. and Co. and was an office manager at MHMR in Comanche for more than 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gustine and a member of the Board Baptist Church in Comanche County.

    She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Philips and husband Kenny of Stephenville, Sherry Harvick of Fort Worth, and Debra Miller and husband Sid of Stephenville; son, Ric White of Fort Worth:  seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Merlene Hardy of Grand Prairie; and nieces and nephews.   

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Forrest Baty, J.D. Baty, Lloyd Baty and Tommy Lee Baty and one infant sister, Inez Baty.
