Glenn “Pe Paw” Saling, age 73, of Brownwood, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating. The body was cremated under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home and Cremations.
Glenn was born May 31, 1936, in McPherson, Kan., the son of Virgil and Eula Gay Small Saling. Glenn grew up in Hobbs, N.M., and was married to Winona Parks in Hobbs on Nov. 12, 1954. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was a pumper in the oil fields. Saling had lived in Brownwood the past 10 years.
Survivors include a son, Jack Saling and wife Sylvia of Brownwood; a daughter, Starlia McRee of Brownwood; grandchildren, Kynzi Saling of Wingate, Texas, Kolton Saling of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rody McRee of Abilene, and Shea Nickerson of Brownwood; a great-granddaughter, Cali Jo McRee; and a brother, Jim Saling and wife Martha of Grosbeck, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Ronnie and Billy Saling; and a sister, Barbara Saling.
