COLEMAN — Services for LaVerne Henderson McDonald, 83, of Granbury, formerly of Brady, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Ziriax officiating. Burial will follow at Lohn Cemetery.
She died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Granbury Villa Nursing Center.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1924, in Waldrip to Chase and Hallie Robertson Bissett. They preceded her in death. She was raised in Brown and Coleman counties and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1941. She was married to Charles Henderson in 1941. He died in 1978. She was married to Kenneth McDonald in 1979, and he died in 1994. She lived her adult life in Coleman, McCulloch and Hood counties. She was a member of the Acton Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Copeland Smith and husband Dan of Granbury; a son, Jimmy Henderson and wife Kathie of Alamogordo, N.M.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepchildren; four step-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jane Henderson Bell and husband Charles of San Angelo, and Faye Henderson of Fort Gibson, Okla.; a brother-in-law, Payne Henderson and wife Lillian of Bangs; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Clayton, Clarence, Derward and Garland Bissett.
