COLEMAN - Services for Dr. Homer Henry Greenlee, 94, of Coleman will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, with the Rev. Calvin Gray officiating, and burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Walker Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Coleman County Medical center.
Homer was born Sept. 28, 1914, to Henry and Estel Greenlee, of Comanche. He was married to Isla Pettit Sept. 4, 1938. After graduating from Hasse High School, he later received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1939. He practiced veterinary medicine in his own clinic in Fort Worth. His practice was interrupted from 1942 to 1945 when he was a captain in the Army during World War II. He returned to his practice in Fort Worth until he retired in 1974 to live on his ranch west of Coleman.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Greenlee and his wife Sharon of Rockwood, Jim Greenlee and his wife June of Ovalo; two sisters, Jimmie Rollins of Coleman and Beatrice Paton of Gustine; one brother, Don Greenlee of Odessa; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Isla, and daughter Suzette Greenlee.
