Joyce Crisman, age 80, of Brownwood, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in Early. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Pastor Ken Smith will officiate. The burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Arlington. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the funeral home.
Joyce was born in Munday, Texas, on Oct. 26, 1927, the daughter of Lowell V. and Ruth Smith Jones. She had been a resident of Brownwood for 11 years, and was formerly of Arlington and Lubbock. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Brownwood and also a Doe in the Elks Lodge. She had worked as an administrative assistant for Family Services in Lubbock for many years. Joyce also loved playing bridge, and many other card games.
Joyce is survived by one daughter, Barbara Gayle Clopton and husband Jim of Early; three step-daughters, Misty Scarlett of Joshua, Ruth Ann Stewart of Lubbock and Karen Elaine Crisman, also of Lubbock; and one step-son, Fred Crisman Sr. She is also survived by two brothers, John A Jones of Arlington, and William S. Jones of Palestine; three grandchildren, Chris Clopton, Elisa Roland and Ethan Clopton; eight step-grandchildren; and her loyal beloved dog, Bitsy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Crisman Sr.; her parents, Lowell V. Jones and Ruth Smith Jones; and brother Delbert W. Jones.
