Mildred Skipping Vaughan, formerly of Brownwood, died on Friday, June 12, 2009, at her residence in Lewisville, Texas.

Mildred Vaughan was born July 23, 1920, in Pearl, Texas, to Harry L. Skipping and Ola Mariott Skipping. She was married to the late Milton Vaughan on Aug. 26, 1950. Mrs. Vaughan was a member of the Methodist Church and also held membership in the Order of the Eastern Star. She retired from the USPHS Indian Health Service in New Mexico, in November 1981.

Graveside services for Mildred Vaughan will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas. Viewing was held at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood from 4-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Methodist Church of Goldthwaite.

Survivors include her niece, Denise Bethke and her family of Edmund, Okla., and a nephew, Kevin Orr and family of Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Texas.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents; and one sister, Margaret Orr.
