Steven Robert Chase McNeill, 29, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in Abilene.

He was born Jan. 5, 1979, in Abilene, to Steve McNeill and Pam Lopez. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1997 and attended Howard Payne University. He also served in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his daughter, Haley Leann McNeill of Abilene; his father, Steve and his wife, Sheri McNeill of Abilene; his mother Pam and her husband Henry Lopez of Stamford; his grandparents, Charles Hansen of Early and Gay and Seymour Beitscher of Abilene; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana and Brian Manning of Flower Mound, and Tifnee and Justin Reed of Stamford; brothers, Andrew McNeill and Daniel McNeill of Abilene, and Ty Lopez of Stamford; aunts and uncles, Candy and Stanley Crawford of Early; Melinda and Robert Black of San Angelo, Kerrie and Delbert McNeill of Abilene; cousins, Christy and husband Dale Meinecke of Comanche, Emilee and husband Adam Wuthrich of Oklahoma; and Mindy Black of Austin. He is also survived by five nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dan and Emilee McNeill; grandmother, Thelma Hansen from Early and her brother Norman Thane from Abilene; cousin, Brian Crawford; and aunt, Sally McNeill.

He was a wonderful loving father, son, brother, “POSS” and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Trinity Baptist Church in Stamford with the Rev. Dale Meinecke of Eastside Baptist Church of Comanche officiating.

All flowers should be sent to the church on the morning of the service.
