Mae Harrison “Meme” White, age 85, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at Heartland Funeral home Chapel with Wayne Horton and Theron Bean officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at Heartland Funeral Home.

Mae Harrison was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Bowser, Texas, the daughter of the late Lorenza Dow and Zadie Phillips Harrison. She attended Richland Springs Schools and married Maurice White at Bowser, Texas, on Oct. 28, 1939.

Mae worked as a seamstress at Brownwood Manufacturing and as a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and crafts. Mae was a member of the Early Church of Christ and had lived in Early since 1976, moving here from Mullin.

Mae was affectionately known by her family as “Meme”. She loved being with family and friends and sharing special times with them.

She was always a most loving and kind lady who not only loved her family and friends, but most importantly, loved God. She spent her life taking care of everyone else and she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Maurice White of Early; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Carl Ray Hohertz of Early; grandsons, Heath Hohertz and wife Susan of Goldthwaite, and Harlan Hohertz and wife Lori of Early; great-grandchildren, Hagen, Hallie-Jo and Henslie; sister, Oleta Drybread of Leander; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Cindy Goins and Margie Sholn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Vada Hitt and Naomi Pallett and a brother
