COMANCHE — A memorial service for Lloyd M. Williams, 74, of Comanche will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at East Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Schulte officiating. Lunch will be held at noon Saturday, at the family home, 202 N. Ervin, Comanche.
He died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Comanche County Medical Center.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1936, in Thackersville, Okla., to Homer W. and Sarah Rebecca (Miller) Williams. On March 29, 1960, he was married to Sandra Hicks in Proctor. He was a self-employed contractor in construction for 10 years, and for 47 years drove a truck for AMPI until he retired in 1987. For the last 20 years he served as pastor of the Congregational Methodist Church in Gorman.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Williams of Comanche; daughters, Pam Craig of Oklahoma, Penny Williams of Comanche, and Barbara Mast of Comanche; sons, Gail Williams of Comanche, and Benny Williams of Lewisville; two grandsons; brother, Floyd Williams and wife Joy of Eastland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Dale Williams, three brothers, and two sisters.
