BRADY — Graveside services for William J. “Jeff” Powell II, 71, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Cowboy Cemetery in Placid. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home of Palestine.
He died Friday, June 13, 2008, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
He was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Elmer Alois and Mary Taylor Powell. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a sheet metal worker. He was Episcopalian.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Cereta Powell of Palestine; a daughter, Wandy Gay Bell of Alvin; two sons, Jeff Powell III of Angleton, and Elmer Powell of Alvin; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ramona Stevens; a son, Beau Powell; and a grandson, Michael Ty Powell.
