COMANCHE ó Funeral services for Hewell Jamar, 82, of Comanche will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Burial will follow in Taylorís Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Lunch will follow the funeral services at Taylorís Chapel Church.
He died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Marshall Manor in Marshall.
He was born March 17, 1927, in Comanche County to Henry Audra Jamar and Elender (Crownover) Jamar. He owned and operated a Cast Iron Welding Service. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his son, Michael Lee Jamar of Marshall; daughter, Ava Helene Jones of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Lee Jamar of Comanche; sisters, Doris LaVerne Lewis of Hawkins, Nelda Wesson of Olney, Mary Sharp of White Oak, Jean Henry of De Leon, Myrtle Jones of White Oak, and Linda Guthrie of Longview.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Elvin Jamar.
