Funeral services for Kenneth Ray “Stubby” Dossey, 71, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Allcorn officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at a local nursing home.

He was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Lamesa to Travis and Louise Therwhanger Dossey. He graduated from Klondike High School and served in the U. S. Navy. On Oct. 11, 1959, he married Karen Jayroe in Lamesa. He managed a cotton gin for many years has lived in Brownwood since 1995 moving from Corpus Christi. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Brownwood; son, Lonnie Wade Dossey of Graham; daughter, Debra Dossey Keehn of Dallas; two sisters, Patsy Wiley of Overland Park, Kan. and Shirley Covington of Lamesa; and five granddaughters, Ashley Dossey, Danielle Keehn, Kourtney Dossey, Alexandra Keehn and Christy Dossey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Jo Crouch.
