COOPER — Funeral services for Johnnie H. Phillips, 78, of Brownwood were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Ruan Jesperson officiating. Burial followed in New Klondike Cemetery.
He died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in Brownwood.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1929, in Dickens to Myrtle and Virgil Phillips. He retired from Continental Trailways in 1985. He also served for two years in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Phillips of Brownwood; daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Tim Elmore of Huntsville, Ala., Rhonda and Matthew Kirbie of Decatur, and Ragena and Randy Jesperson of Duncanville; those daughters’ mother, Betty Phillips of The Colony; and a daughter, Laquina McElroy of Portland, Ore.; his sons, Toyce and wife Wincie Phillips of Honey Grove, and David and Lisa Phillips of Paradise; and his stepdaughter and husband, Terry and Manuel Corrales of Brownwood; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
