Funeral services for Ruby LaVerne Huffman, 77, of Brownwood, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with Brother Bill Allen officiating. Interment will be at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Heartland Funeral Home.
She passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007.
She was born to Willie Thomas and Laura Mabel McBeth White on Aug. 8, 1929, in Winters, Texas. She worked for many years at 3M until her retirement. She was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. She was dedicated to working with Meals on Wheels and was actively involved in Silver Stars until her health would no longer allow her to do this. She loved God and her family very deeply.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Reed and husband Ardith of Brownwood; Ruth Larose and husband David of Columbus, Ga.; one son, Raymond T. Huffman of Brownwood; three granddaughters, Tammy Means and husband Bruce of Brownwood; Stephanie Reed and Armando “Junior” Garcia of Brownwood; Laurie Ann Barnard and husband Daniel of Huber Heights, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Karissa Means of Brownwood and Adam Barnard of Huber Heights, Ohio; one brother, Clyde White of Arlington, Texas; adopted grandchildren, Robert and Tina Carlton and their children Chelsie and Trent; and special friends, Nell Alford, Paula Sliger, and Rosemary Harlow.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
