COMANCHE — Funeral services for Donald William Moore, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Board Church with the Rev. Gerald Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Baggett Creek Cemetery in Comanche County. Lunch will be held at noon Saturday, at Board Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Comanche Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Western Hills Healthcare Residence in Comanche.
He was born on Nov. 18, 1923, in Gustine, to Wallace and Floy (Moore) Odell. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. On Aug. 31, 1947, Donald was married to Pauline Harper in Gustine. He was a self-employed rancher and farmer. He was a member of Board Church and was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Moore of Gustine; daughter, Linda Pettit and husband Bill of Gustine; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Smith of Longview; uncle, Guy Eltrice Moore of Gustine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill O’Dell, and one grandson-in-law.
