Carolyn Stewart Butler, 64, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, in Brownwood. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Abilene at 3 p.m.
Carolyn Butler was born April 5, 1945, in San Angelo, Texas, to John and Effie Fae Ripple. She was married to Wayne Butler on June 7, 2003, in San Angelo. Carolyn was involved in many different organizations such as Texas State Teacherís Association. She loved working with young girls and was involved in the Girls Ambassadors.
Carolyn also spent some of her free time visiting elderly residents in nursing homes.
She worked as a teacherís aide and librarian at Grape Creek I.S.D. where she retired. Carolyn and her husband Wayne have been in the community for six years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Brownwood. Carolyn was a devoted Christian and generally loved everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Wayne Butler, three sons; Kevin Stewart and wife Kandi of Lubbock, Kyle Stewart and wife Angela of Buffalo Gap, and Kelly Stewart and wife Mona of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and her cousin, Travis Ripple of Eola, Texas.
