Graveside funeral services for Desmond Ray Denson, age 81, of Brownwood, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo with Alvis Fisher officiating, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Ray passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in Brownwood.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1926, in Wingate to Bowie Houston and Beatrice Allman Denson. He married Christine Shook on Dec. 19, 1947, in Winters. Ray worked for Sears for a number of years, Carlton Automotive, and for Sewalt Butane. He was a longtime member of the Brady Avenue Church of Christ.
Ray is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine Denson of Brownwood, two sons, Jeffery Denson and wife Brenda of Copperas Cove, Russell Denson and wife Vivian of Early; five grandchildren, Emily, Eric, Carolynn, Donald Ray, and Diana; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, J. B. Denson of Wilmeth, Patrick Henry Denson of Colorado City, and Bowie Houston Denson Jr. of Tow Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
