Parke Goodwin, age 53 of Bangs, Texas, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center with those he loved surrounding him.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Lou Sharp officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, before the funeral at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services.
Parke Goodwin was born Dec. 30, 1953, in Sarasota, Fla., the son of Norman and Sara White Goodwin. Parke worked at Danhill Container as a forklift driver. He also worked as a cabinetmaker for CDI and he was a Captain in the Merchant Marines. Parke married Janet Freeman in Brownwood on July 25, 1987, they made their home in Bangs for 27 years. He attended the Word of Faith Church.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet Goodwin of Bangs; mother and stepfather, Sara and Charlie Ringling of Bangs; father, Norman Goodwin of Junction; brother, David Goodwin and compainon Trish of Santa Fe, Texas; sister, Marie Armes and husband Clay of Junction; half-sister, Lorie Heitz of Illinois; nieces, Keisha Daniels, Keeley Armes, and Brandy Egbarts; nephews, David Terrell II and wife Brook and Joe Freeman; great nieces and nephews, David Chance, Britney and Nichole and Tyler and Quinn; step-brothers, Kirk and Charles; step-sister, Debbie; brother-in-law, Eddie Freeman and wife Vera; sister-in-law, Carol Freeman; mother-in-law, Arlene Depauw and husband Dale; father-in-law, Edward Freeman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Goodwin on Jan. 9, 1960, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Freeman, daughter Candice and biological father, George Everly.
