OLNEY — Isell Cross Baker, age 81, of Olney, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, in Olney.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at the Southside Baptist Church in Olney, Texas, with the Rev. Andy Graham, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Jermyn, Texas, under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Isell was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Shannon, Texas, to the late J.O. and Rosa Lee (Jones) Cross. She grew up in Jermyn, Texas. She and Wesley “Bud” Baker were married Feb. 26, 1944, in Jacksboro. He preceded her in death Aug. 26, 2005. She was a retired Olney Savings Association teller. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, the Homemakers I Sunday School Class, the Women on Mission, the Discipleship Training and the Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her son, James Wesley Baker in 1994. She moved to Olney from Brownwood in 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Lee Brown and husband Steve of Tucumcari, N.M.; four grandchildren, Buddy Haas, Joey Haas, Jacqueline Gable, and Stacey Banks; and six great-grandchildren.
