Graveside services for Emily Orana Binion, 92, of Brownwood, will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with Bro. Steve Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

She died Sept. 30, 2008, at a local nursing home.

She was born Feb. 24, 1916, in Lawn, to John and Olie Harris. She was married to William A. Binion on Nov. 5, 1935, in San Angelo. She was a farmer and rancher most of her life, however she held many different jobs in her lifetime. She worked for the Texas Feather Factory, Brownwood Regional Medical Center. She was a member of The Rebeka’s Lodge and held several positions throughout the lodge. She was also a member of Avenue D Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sisters, Sylvia Allen of Atlanta and Catherine Richards of Grants Pass, Ore.; and a cousin Violet Brown of San Saba. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Binion; her parents; one brother, John Jefferson Harris; and four sisters, Jewel Oleta Dowdy, Ida Howe, Anna Lee Medart and Jerldine James.
