AZLE — Karen Rushing Newsom, 65, went to continue service with her Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Lakeside, 8801 Jacksboro Highway. A small family committal service will be held Saturday afternoon in Richland Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Karen was born April 23, 1942, in Brady. She lived the majority of her life in Azle and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lakeside. Her life was dedicated to Christ, family and friends. She lived for love, laughter and nurturing others.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nelson and Forestine McGregor Rushing; and a brother, Stanley Rushing.
Survivors include her husband, William Newsom of Azle; daughters, Leslie Stowe and husband, Roy, and Renee Yousey Latta and husband, Alan, all of Azle; stepchildren, Billy Newsom of Lead Hill, Ark., and Natalie Baviera of Fort Worth; brother, Brad Rushing of Cedar Hill; and nephews, Scott Rushing and Bruce Rushing. She was “Mimi” to her beloved nine grandchildren, and “Mom” and friend to many.
Biggers Funeral Home of Fort Worth is in charge of arrangements.
