COLEMAN – Funeral services for Steven Paul Dela Rosa, 53, of Coleman will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Romanus Akamike officiating.
Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to follow.
He died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born June 21, 1956, in Greeley, Colo., to Pauline Rodriguez Dela Rosa and Gus Dela Rosa. He was married to Holli Boyle in May 1974 in Coleman. He worked as a laminator at 3M in Brownwood and became a State Certified Machinist Class FMC.
Survivors include his son, Rory and wife Connie Dela Rosa of Killeen; daughters, Kara and husband Travis Thompson of Copperas Cove and Shara and husband Willie Stewart of San Antonio; his mother, Pauline Dela Rosa of Coleman; his brothers, Johnny Dela Rosa of Coleman, Tony and wife Joy Dela Rosa of Houston, Ruben Dela Rosa of Coleman, and Tommy Dela Rosa of San Saba; sister, Jana Alcala of San Antonio; his girlfriend, Julia Smith of Coleman; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his ex-wife, Holli Boyle of Coleman.
He was preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter.
