Lila Jo Thompson Boone passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010, in Brownwood.

    She was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Dublin, Texas. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be remembered and missed for her wonderful sense of humor and many talents. She had a strong faith in the Lord and is now safe in His keep.

    She is survived by her loving husband, Kermit Boone; son and daughter in-law, Rebel and Lezlie Lockett of Tomball, daughter and son in-law Clarice Lockett and Jim Huckleberry of San Antonio, daughter and son in-law Paula and Mike Schilhab of Conroe, daughter, Rhonda Boone, and sons Billy Boone and Tommy Boone; grandchildren Grant Schilhab, Blair and Rocky Ellis, Brent and Blake Myklebust, Ryan, Aaron, and Sarah Lockett; and great granddaughter, Brooklynn Kelly Ellis. She is also survived by sister Mildred Reeves; sister and brother in-law Dorothy and Don Lewis, sister Loreta Hiller; niece Sherry Bailey and husband Mike Bailey; niece Tami Rodgers, and many other loved nieces and nephews.

    Jo was preceded in death by her son, Kelly Lockett; parents Blueford and Lula Thompson; sister, Edith Russell; sister, Ruth Gladine Thompson; brother Ezelle Thompson, sister in-law Margaret Thompson; sister-in-law Tommie Nash; brother-in-law, J.R. Reeves; and brother-in-law George Russell.

    Pall bearers are Brent and Blake Myklebust, Grant Schilhab, Mike Bailey, Robert Reeves, and Alan Rodgers. Honorary pall bearers are Ryan Lockett, Aaron Lockett, Jodi Osburn, Jeffrey Osburn, Brian Springer, Dale Harold, Gage Rodgers, Tommy Boone and Billy Boone.

    Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m today, at Blaylock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 26, at Central United Methodist Church in Brownwood, with Dr. Gary Torian officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
