SAN SABA — Funeral services for John Henry Prewitt, 69, of Hamilton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joshua Crutchfield officiating. Burial will follow at San Saba City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in Hamilton.
He was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Llano, the son of George William and Willie Mae Crumley Prewitt. He was married to Frances E. Hunter on Sept. 12, 1961, in Llano, where they lived most of their lives. He served with the National Guard from 1958 to 1959. He attended the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Prewitt of Hamilton; two sons, Johnny Lee Prewitt of Hamilton, and James Prewitt and his wife Shelly of Sherman; two daughters, Rose Prewitt-Dunn and her husband Wayne of Hamilton, and Margaret Prewitt of Hamburger Ark.; four grandchildren; and one sister, Cathrine and her husband W.J. Rogers of Tow Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kathy Ann Prewitt; one brother, Andrew Prewitt and his wife Barbara; and one sister, Ollie Mae Jordan and her husband Francis.
The family requests that memorials be made to The American Cancer Society.
