Lucille Weathermon Chew, age 81, of Brownwood, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Brownwood Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, in Greenleaf Cemetery, with Pastor Tony King officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Lucille was born Nov. 16, 1929, to Ellis and Gracie Weathermon in Brownwood, Texas. She was married to Robert (Bob) Chew on March 18, 1956 in Brownwood, Texas. She was employed by the United States Postal Service in Oklahoma City for 20 years, when she retired in 1990, and returned to Brownwood.
Survivors include her brother, Ellis Weathermon and wife Wanda of Comanche, Texas; her children, Linda Bernard of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Allen Chew of Brownwood, Texas, Kathy Bass of El Reno, Okla., Carol Melton of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lana Gardner of Brownwood, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and three sisters, Vetress Barefoot, Ganelle Stewart, and Earldean Huckaby.
