Funeral services for Hilmer W. Kruckemeyer, 83, of Mercury, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. George P. Ascher officiating. Burial will follow at Cox Cemetery in McCulloch County.
Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He died Friday, July 13, 2007, in Arlington.
He was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Blanco County to Otto W. and Hulda Marie Wengenroth Kruckemeyer. A lifelong resident, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was a stock farm owner. During World War II, he served in the Army and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. On Aug. 15, 1948, he married Anna Dorothy Thormann.
Survivors include his son, Paul H. Kruckemeyer and wife Amy V. of Arlington; daughters, Cheryl Odom of Mansfield and Janice Lasley of Grapevine; six grandchildren, Luke Kruckemeyer, Athena Runyan, John McNatt; Eric, Ross, and Megan Lasley; one great-grandchild, Cornell Walter Runyan; and one sister, Lenora Herron.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Kruckemeyer; his parents, Otto and Hulda Kruckemeyer; and a sister, Elvira Farris Caldwell.
