Dorothy Jean McGlothlin, age 80, of Brownwood, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in Brownwood. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday June 19, at the New Life Assembly of God in Brownwood with Pastor Jeff Pieprzyca and Dr. James McGlothlin officiating. Burial will fallow at the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Heartland Funeral Home in Early is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born in Gorman, Texas, on March 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Luther Lewis Fuller and Louella Decker Fuller. She was a graduate of DeLeon High School.

She was married to Myrle McGlothlin Sr. on Jan. 18, 1947, in DeLeon. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God in Brownwood, the Red Hat Society and the Emmaus Community. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1947. Dorothy loved to bowl, and travel, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she had a great faith for God.

Survivors include her husband, Myrel McGlothlin Sr., of Brownwood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne McGlothlin and wife Joyce of Early; Jackie McGlothlin and wife Valerie of Lufkin; Jerry McGlothlin and wife Chris of Brownwood; two sisters, Jo Ella Pittman of Palestine and Voneal Baker of Abilene; nine grandchildren, Georgia Harper of Star, Selena Odom of Brownwood, Sgt. Daniel Collins of Fort Worth, Trey McGlothlin of San Marcos, Audrey Anderson of Lufkin, Seth McGlothlin of Lufkin, Jared McGlothlin of Lufkin, Christopher Kirchner of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Amy McGlothlin of Hutto; 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
