Rankin McIver, age 95, of Trickham, Texas, passed away at 10:16 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trickham Union Church with the Rev. Pat McClatchy and the Rev. Paul Stephen officiating. Interment will follow at the Trickham Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home.
Rankin was born May 27, 1913, in Trickham, Texas, to the late Benjamin Watson and Mattie Eva Ford McIver. He attended the Trickham schools and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1932. On April 24, 1949, Rankin married Ruth Meek in Brady, Texas, and they celebrated 10 years of marriage. Ruth preceded him in death in 1959. He married Natalie Anderson in Abilene, Texas, on Sept. 28, 1980, and they have celebrated 27 years of marriage. Rankin was a lifetime resident of Trickham where he was a member of the Trickham Methodist Church and a stockfarmer. He was chairman of the board of the ASC committee for 20 years and a past board member of the Trickham Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Natalie McIver of Trickham, Texas; one daughter, Sherry and husband Jim Blake of Trickham, Texas; granddaughter, Meghan Blake of Trickham, Texas; several step-children; and several nieces and nephews.
Rankin was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers, Irene Bobo, Ethel Johnson, Mary Miller, Inez Miller, Bernice McIver, Arthur McIver and Grady McIver.
