SANTA ANNA - Funeral services for Albert Brashear, 81, of Santa Anna will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Northside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Marvin Hale and the Rev. Gilbert Brashear officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Anna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at Henderson Funeral Home.

He died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at his home.

He was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Oxford, Miss., to Albert Thomas and Maggie Miller Tabor Brashear. He served his country with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. On Aug. 4, 1956, he was married to Bertha Lee South in Lovington, N. M. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and a retired ordained Baptist Minister.

Survivors include his three daughters, Shannon Sims of Phelan, Calf., Myrna Swalm of Colorado, and Diane Neil and husband Andrew of Brenham; two sons, Gilbert Brashear and wife Dawn of Brenham and Albert Brashear and wife Julie of Santa Anna; three sisters, Jerry Casey or Lovington, La., Barbara Masey of Odessa and Norma Duke of Odessa; two brothers, Bobby Brashear of Clyde and Charles Jackson of Clyde; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Silvia Boulenger and Morgery Wheeler; one granddaughter; two sisters and one brother.
