Funeral services for Bonnie Hudgens Land Pyburn will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with the Rev. Mike Whisenant officiating. Burial will follow at the Bangs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 27 at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born March 10, 1921, the youngest of 12 children of Albert Sidney and Jeff White Hudgens at Lohn, Texas. She ended her long journey peacefully May 25, 2008, at the Care Center in Early, Texas.
Bonnie was a graduate of the Masonic Home in Fort Worth, and was a retired LVN working at various nursing homes in the area. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, and a longtime Church of Christ member.
Bonnie is survived by her first husband, Thomas Carlton Land, of Granbury, who is the father of her children; five children, Linda Land Whorton and husband Warren of Rockdale, Suellen Land Mahanay and husband Charles of Burleson, Thomas and Cindy Land of Comanche, Albert Land and wife Deborah of Granbury, and Bonnie Land Newman and husband Mike of Brownwood; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters, in addition to her parents, three bothers and eight sisters.
Pallbearers will be Derric Whorton, Joey Byrd, Jackie Byrd, Joe Cook, Lonnie Whorton and David Karl. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Newman, Ricky Byrd, Ryan Land, Randy Land and Delbert Willis.
