Funeral services for Evelyn Laura Pittman, age 87, of Brownwood, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lyn Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Pittman passed away Thursday morning in Brownwood.

Evelyn was born Feb. 21, 1921, in May, Texas, to the late Milton and Mary White. She married Robert Pittman Jan. 23, 1937, in Brownwood. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Early and had volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by a son, Winfred Pittman and wife Theresa of College Station; two daughters, Gloria Eudey of Bryan, Texas, and Linda Lamkin and husband Herby of Brownwood, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Shauna Mendez

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pittman; two sisters, Enid Kennedy and Ernistine Bennitt; and two brothers, Vernon White and Horace White.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
